We regret to inform you of the recent transition of the First Lady of Union Evangelistic Baptist Church, Sis. Bessie Marie Flint. Her 53 years of loving, laughing, teaching, praying, and giving of her time, talent and expertise will not be forgotten. An elegant, down to earth, Woman of God, our First Lady was filled with wisdom, joy and power. Sis. Flint cared deeply for the Union Family, from babies to seniors. Her contributions to the kingdom of God, her dedication to the students of School District 170, and her anointed singing made an impact in the lives of many. Please pray for Pastor Flint Sr., the entire Flint family, and the Union Evangelistic family. Earth has no sorrow that heaven cannot heal.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Eddie ‘R.T.’ English and Bessie English, as well as her sister, Burnetta LaJean Miles. Left to mourn her passing and celebrate her life is her husband of 66 years, Rev. Dr. James R. Flint, Sr., her three children: Rev. Alecia (Michael) Dixon of University Park, IL, Demetra (Dwayne) Banks of Peoria, IL and Pastor James R. (Thursday) Flint, Jr. of Tinley Park, IL; grandchildren: Alecia (Jon) Pierre, Michael (Emily) Dixon, Danielle Banks, Dwayne (Mayra) Banks, Jr., Dreyanna Banks, Savannah Flint, and James Flint, III; great-grandchildren: Ayden Pierre, Julia Pierre, Finnley Dixon, Lincoln Dixon, Dejah Foster, Kent Johnson, and Krew Johnson. She also leaves her special cousin Sis. Opal Brown, her nieces, a host of other cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. First Lady Bessie Marie Flint will be truly missed!
