Until we meet again…
We think about you always,
We talk about you still,
You have never been forgotten,
And you never will.
We hold you close within our hearts
and there you will remain,
To walk and guide us through our lives,
Until We Meet Again!
Kenneth Ray Henry, affectionately known as “Kenny”, was born in Chicago Heights to his parents, Shirley Coleman-Mann (Albert Mann, stepfather) and Willie Henry (Shirley Hayden, stepmother), who all preceded him in death. He leaves to cherish his memories: his life partner, Tonya Carey; 3 children, Patricia Richards-Smith (Donald), Cory Henry (Jen) and Jazelle McElroy; 2 stepchildren, Nina Goins and Mark Brown (Brittanni); 3 siblings, Keith Mann (Sherri), Todd Hayden (Mary) and Tawana Pouncey; 3 step-siblings, Kevin Hayden (preceded him in death), Lynn Hayden and Daryl Mitchell; 19 grandchildren, Keneisha Charae Richards, Whitley Smith, Donald Smith Jr., Kayla Henry, Jadah Henry, Cory Henry Jr., Destiny Najera, Jax Henry (four-legged grandson), Miracle Clayton, Kayla McKoy, Noah McElroy, Autumn Ringo, Shameka Goins, Cory Harper Jr., Cierra Harper, Aiden Brown, Autumn Brown, Elizabeth Brown, Stefan Brown; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends!
In 1973, Kenny graduated from Bloom High School where he was a member of the wrestling team. He was a retired truck driver after about 25 years of local driving. He loved life and he loved to fish! He was an avid fisherman and loved to share his joy of fishing with all who wanted to experience it. Now, father and sons share their joy of fishing together. He cared about others more than himself. He was there to lend an ear and offer kind words with his beautiful smile and kind, amazing eyes. He was a beautiful soul!
Gone Fishing!
I’ve finished life’s chores assigned to me,
So put me on a boat headed out to sea.
Please send along my fishing pole,
For I’ve been invited to the fishin’ hole.
Where every day is a day to fish,
To fill your heart with every wish.
Don’t worry, or feel sad for me,
I’m fishin’ with the Master of the Sea.
We will miss each other for awhile,
But you will come and bring your smile.
That won’t be long you will see,
Till we’re together you and me.
To all of those that think of me,
Be happy as I go out to sea.
If others wonder why I’m missin’,
Just tell ‘em I’m in Heaven Fishin’!
