Wesley Anthony Jones was born on October 31, 1954 to Mr. Wendell Stevens and Ms. Daisy Jones in Chicago Heights, Illinois. Wesley was the second child of Daisy Jones. Wesley was affectionately known as “Count Wes” and “Pops” to those who knew and loved him.
Wesley received Christ while attending St. Bethel Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend John H. Rice, Sr. Even though Wesley dedicated his life to Christ at an early age, it strengthened throughout the years and he recently lived his life knowing “he was in this world and not of this world.”
He attended Bloom High School. He was a Bloom track star where he was awarded various medals, honors and awards. He attended Western Illinois University. He also continued his education later in life at Milwaukee Area Technical College. He worked with the Illinois Department of Transportation for 15 years.
Wesley met the mother of his children, Darlene Lovelace in 1978, and together they had five children. They were together 29 years and remained great friends still today. Wesley was a great chef, loved to play golf, and he loved to party…because he was the life of the party! He loved cracking jokes (at others expense) and making people laugh! Wesley was a dedicated father and grandfather.
On April 10, 2020 at the age 65 years old Wesley was called home.
